Synopsis:
During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the land was divided among warring states, and chaos reigned. On his deathbed, the Emperor of Later Tang entrusted his daughter, the princess, with a jade flute containing the secret to a hidden treasure. Soon after, Later Tang fell to Later Jin, and the princess fled into exile, carrying the flute in hopes of one day restoring her kingdom.
The Grand Preceptor of Yan, seeking the treasure for himself, sent assassins to hunt her down. General Liu Junxiong, who tried to protect her, was captured by Yan forces. His wife, Sai Xiaoqing, and the princess fled in haste into Xiahou Valley—only to discover that its inhabitants were the surviving remnants of the Xiahou Kingdom, which had been destroyed by Later Tang years before.
Unbeknownst to them, Xiahou Tang, the crown prince of the fallen kingdom, was secretly living in the valley, training in the Nine Swords of Dugu technique to reclaim his homeland. Unaware of the princess's true identity, he rescued her in her time of need. Grateful, she began to develop feelings for him—little knowing that their fates were entwined in a web of vengeance and destiny.
