🎭 Plot Focus: In early liberation China, a martial arts team trains in a town for the national martial arts tournament. A teen athlete Xiaogang is attacked by a tiger, saved by an old man who slays the beast with the lost lotus palm of the eight diagrams—a technique recognized by Xiaogang’s mother Wang Lan, a martial arts official. While searching for the old man, Wang Lan finds tombstones of her grandfather (the palm’s master) and her late apprentice brother, triggering memories of her past. Twenty years prior, her husband Mai Geng, the palm’s top disciple, accidentally killed his fellow apprentice while avenging their master, then fled in guilt to the mountains. Wang Lan deduces the tiger-slayer is Mai Geng, and finally reunites with her long-lost husband.
